"SHE HAD RINGS ON HER FINGERS AND BELLS ON HER SHOES"

New York City-Anyone who knows me knows I love hair accessories. Anna Sui’s most recent hats make me giddy like a private school girl on the Upper East Side as I send them out to shoots and stylist from KCD. The fall semester at LIM College has just started and my friend Maya De La Rupelle came to class with the most adorable trinket in her hair. This vintage barrette, which her mother purchased in Europe during her twenties, delicately enhanced Maya sleek hair style. I am absolutely loving it and heading over to MJ Trimmings asap to make one of my own. We’ve only had four day of classes and my crafts list is already growing… anyone else have any clever DIY ideas?

"TRY AND FAIL, BUT DONT FAIL TO TRY"

New York City- While lounging between boring business classes last week I spotted the most extravagant laptop I’ve ever seen. Naturally, I ran over took a picture then continued to harass the student about how confident she was that the hot glue wouldn’t ruin her screen. Ps. she promises the computer works even better now than before! The laptop reminded me of what I used to do to my binders during high school. I know it would brighten my day if every time my computer crashed there was a beautiful garden grazing the top of it. The student went all out even adding leaf details. Nothings better then a little DIY to brighten up this rainy weekend.

"I WAS A QUEEN, & YOU TOOK AWAY MY CROWN."

New York City -I'm a Styling and Marketing student at LIM College and last semester I took fashion styling with Professor Palladino, who used to be the studio services executive at Bendel’s. We shot with Michael Creigh who is also a Professor at LIM College but also a very established and talented photographer. We had to choose between several iconic French women. Naturally my group chose Marie Antoinette. Our assignment was to modernize our female icon to the new millennium. I chose to recreate my favorite scene from the recent flick where Marie is shopping in her bedroom for a new pair of shoes. I wanted to emphasize the poor little rich girl aspect and keep my Marie a bit aloof. My goal was for the emotion to come across that even though Miss Antoinette had all the things in the world she ever desired she was still lacking the ultimate happiness which she will most likely never obtain. Let the eat cake! PS. If you didn’t notice the title of the last posting is the original French proverb "Let them eat cake" before being translated into English, interesting enough it directly translates to. I hope you enjoy these shots.

"QU'ILS MANGENT DE LA BRIOCHE"

New York City- Spotted outside of LIM College earlier this week was the Cupcake Stop truck. Personally I am against all things street vendor. But my sweet tooth empowers my mind at the simple mention of the intangible deliciousness a miniature cake entails. Especially those that are decorated extravagantly (like the ones in Chelsea Market, works of art!) I’m the girl who has waited for hours for Magnolia’s, made pit stops at Crumbs and the biggest thing I miss about LA is Sprinkles. The truck has an array of flavors that change by the week. This week the Cupcake Stop is offering strawberry shortcake, peanut butter and jelly and a mysterious “psychedelic tie dye” cupcake. Don’t think it can get any sweeter? The Cupcake Stop will donate leftover cupcakes to City Harvest which gives unused food to the homeless. How great would it be if during the upcoming fashion week this darling little truck made parked outside the tents with designer inspired cupcakes? A girl can dream.
